visit cesenatico piazza spose marinai

Going along the Lungomare di Ponente, towards Molo, you reach the suggestive Piazza Spose dei Marinai. Inaugurated in 2005, the square represents an important and significant recognition to wives and mothers who in the past waited on the piers and beaches, to appear on the horizon of sailing with family symbols. Before the advent of the engine, women anxiously awaited the return of their husbands who worked at sea, scrutinizing the horizon to recognize the sail of their boat.
The bronze sculpture in the center of the square, created by the artist Quinto Pagliarani, is made up of three figures, a mother with two children, and captures the moment when a child points out the family boat on the horizon.
From 2019 all those who decide to get married, have one more opportunity: the Municipality of Cesenatico, in fact, has made available for the celebration of weddings this exclusive location, one of the most fascinating and evocative places of the Romagna coast, able to to give the newlyweds and guests one of the most exciting views of the canal harbor, the square, the fishing huts, the sea and the beach.
