Cesenatico is preparing to host the 55th edition of the Granfondo Nove Colli, scheduled for Sunday, May 24, but the celebration begins two days earlier. On Friday, May 22, the Nove Colli Village officially opens in Piazza Andrea Costa: a vibrant meeting point where sport, passion, and community merge into a unique experience.
The Nove Colli has always been confirmed as one of the most prestigious and international amateur cycling events. For an entire weekend, the roads of Romagna are colored with bicycles and accents from all over the world, transforming Cesenatico into the world capital of two wheels.
A village, a thousand emotions The Nove Colli Village will be open on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, from 9:00 to 21:00, with a rich program of activities: race pack collection, sponsor stands, stage shows, and unmissable meetings.
On Saturday afternoon, at 14:30, it's time for the youngest with the Mini Nove Colli by Gobik: an ecological ride for children aged 7 to 14 on the new circuit of the Villamarina Velodrome. A free opportunity to get closer to sport and experience the magic of the Nove Colli in junior format.
At 17:00, the "Loyalists" will be celebrated with awards by MET, and at 19:00, the spotlight will be on the #NoveColli4Children solidarity project, which links the event to social initiatives in the area.
A positive impact event The Nove Colli 2026 is not just sport, but also a sustainability model certified by Legambiente. Sustainable wooden medals, no single-use plastic, compostable tableware, and zero-km pasta party are just some of the good practices adopted. All accompanied by a Green Team.
THE ROUTES
The long route
The new layout of the so-called "long" route covers a total of 194 km with an elevation gain of 3880 meters. A good part of the road that participants will travel will be the traditional one, but at the end of the race, we will see numerous novelties. The first is after the Barbotto climb with the "new" descent to the Ville di Montetiffi, which will bring athletes before a group of houses immersed in greenery, from where the Benedictine Abbey can be seen in the distance at the top of the Montetiffi ramp, before reaching Perticara. The most substantial novelty, however, comes at the last hill, which will no longer be Gorolo, replaced by the Sogliano climb and the consequent Cioca descent: 4 kilometers of effort with sections of climb at 10% and then down the Cioca with 18 hairpin bends in one of the most beautiful descents in Romagna. The finish will also see substantial modifications to improve traffic flow towards Cesenatico in view of the finish line. The caravan of riders will descend downstream towards Fiumicino, avoiding the forced closure of the "Valle del Rubicone" toll booth and following the historic river to the gates of Cesenatico. This will make the organization's management easier, reducing inconvenience and increasing participant safety.
The medium route
The "medium" route, however, will remain substantially unchanged, approximately 130 km, with the only difference after the Barbotto climb where at kilometer 95 the gate with the fork between the two routes will be positioned.
Those who wish to venture onto the "long" route must reach that point by 11:45. The entrance to Cesenatico will also become new, obviously following that of the "long" route.
The other route
The start remains from Cesenatico with the caravan then heading to the Sala hamlet before reaching Santangelo and Gatteo and arriving at Savignano sul Rubicone, finding themselves in front of the Ribano Castle. Cyclotourists will face some inclines, enjoying the panorama before reaching Borghi and continuing to Sogliano where there will be a refreshment point with local products. From here, refreshed, participants will launch themselves down the Cioca descent with its 18 hairpin bends that have made it known to all as "Little Stelvio". Once the Rubicone river is crossed, the return home will begin, passing again through Savignano before Gatteo, Fiumicino, and the arrival in Cesenatico at the same finish line as the classic Nove Colli. The total distance is 60km with an elevation gain of 650 meters and a maximum height of 360 meters.
Nove Colli also becomes Gravel
Two routes, one of 85 km and 1400 meters of elevation gain and one of 130 km and 2600 meters of elevation gain.
Participants will be able to use the same refreshment points as the road race and can celebrate together at the final pasta party.
