Cesenatico is a picturesque seaside town in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the heart of the Romagna Riviera. How to get to Cesenatico

By car

  • From the South (Bari, Lecce, Pescara, Ancona): Take the A14 motorway towards Bologna. Exit at Rimini Nord or Valle del Rubicone and continue on SS16 towards Ravenna.

  • From the North (Brenner Pass, Milan, Bologna): Take the A14 motorway towards Ancona. Exit at Cesena and continue on SP7, SP33 and SS304.

  • From Rome: Take the E45 motorway. Exit at Cesena, then continue on SS726 and SS304.

  • From Venice: Take SS309 Romea towards Ravenna and continue to Cesenatico.

  • From Rimini: Take SS16 Adriatica towards Ravenna.

Once you arrive in town, head towards Cesenatico centre (under the overpass). A convenient car park is available in Piazza della Rocca (entrance to the parking area is on the left, just before the railway crossing).

By train

The Cesenatico railway station is located on the Rimini–Ravenna line.

  • From the North and South: from Bologna Centrale there are direct trains to Cesenatico.

  • From Cesena: you can reach Cesenatico by bus line no. 94.

  • From Rimini Centrale: served by national and high-speed trains, you can change to a regional train to Cesenatico.

By plane

Cesenatico is conveniently located near three international airports:

  • Bologna G. Marconi Airport (BLQ) – 80 km from Cesenatico

  • Rimini F. Fellini Airport (RMI) – 25 km from Cesenatico

  • Forlì L. Ridolfi Airport (FRL) – 40 km from Cesenatico

From each airport you can continue by car following the driving directions. From Bologna Marconi Airport, you can also take the Shuttle Italy Airport service directly to Cesenatico

By boat

Port of Cesenatico: coordinates 44° 12′ 32″ N – 12° 24′ 17″ E

If you are arriving by boat, you can moor directly at the Port of Cesenatico. Owners of historic boats may also request temporary mooring alongside the sailing vessels of the Maritime Museum (booking required). Please note that space is limited and the seabed in the Leonardesque Canal Harbour of Cesenatico is shallow.

Getting around Cesenatico

On Foot

Cesenatico is a town designed for walking. The historic centre and the Leonardesque Canal Harbour are easy to explore on foot. The main beaches, urban parks and the Zadina pinewood are just a few minutes from the centre, while bars, restaurants and shops are always conveniently close by.

By bike
