The green lungs of the city: the parks
For jogging enthusiasts or those who want to work out without needing a gym, or simply to spend time outdoors, in Cesenatico you will find large green areas and parks equipped for all needs.
Levante Park and Ponente Park
If you are looking for lush, tree-lined green areas, Levante Park (40 hectares, the largest) or Ponente Park (13 hectares) are what you need. These are the two largest and most important parks, each located in a different area of the city. Both have play areas for children, refreshment zones, equipped picnic areas, all surrounded by poplars and pines, lawns and small lakes. There are also numerous paths winding through the parks for walking or cycling. In Levante, you will also find many animals such as mandarin ducks, moorhens, geese, and turtles.
Gardens by the Sea
For a green break during a day at the beach, walking along the Levante promenade, you can immerse yourself in the Gardens by the Sea. A green lung that creates a pedestrian area close to the beach with plants, flowers, and hedges, extending for 2 km. Here too, you can find equipped areas for children. Furthermore, the Gardens by the Sea are bordered by the cycle path, which runs along the entire promenade.
Cathedral of Leaves
Along the Gardens by the Sea, between Viale Ferrara and Viale Pasubio, you can admire a natural work conceived by Tonino Guerra, a Romagna poet, and created by the sculptor Aurelio Brunelli. This iron artwork is located in a biodiversity garden, composed of fruit trees and protected by the network of gardens of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The work is guarded by trees and leaves as if it were a sanctuary of nature.
For a nice walk or a run in the park, now all you need are the right shoes. Remember to pack them!
