The Maritime Museum, an example of European cooperation
The Cesenatico Maritime Museum sets an example across Europe, and it has recently been announced that NEMO (Network of European Museum Organisations) has included it as a virtuous example in one of its annual dossiers.
The cultural site, one of the most evocative in Romagna, has been cited as a model for European participation and cooperation, particularly in reference to the activities carried out with the Arca Adriatica Project and the Revival project.
The Maritime Museum is one of the leaders of the Arca Adriatica project and has long played a key role in the European landscape. With Arca Adriatica, the goal of protecting, preserving, and promoting the invaluable maritime heritage present in Cesenatico also for tourism promotion purposes, is being pursued, and this project is the natural continuation of the Interreg program undertaken in the past with Croatia and Slovenia; the objective of the Revival project, on the other hand, is to redevelop and revive disused twentieth-century buildings, precisely what the Maritime Museum, together with the Municipal Administration, is doing for the former washhouse.
