A trip to Cesenatico with your dog
The Ponente Park Cesenatico
We start from the north, specifically from the Ponente Park, a vast green area that includes a fenced dog exercise area near Via Magellano. The park is a very quiet area, usable all year round, where you can find cycle-pedestrian paths that can be walked with your dog on a leash. Inside the park there are also two football fields, one basketball court, an area for entertainment and picnics, restrooms, and various play areas for children.
The Free Beach of Ponente
We exit the Ponente Park from Viale de Varthema, which leads to crossing Via Colombo to head towards the sea. A few meters and you are directly on the Cesenatico beach, a large expanse of free beach that can be a huge play area for your dog.
However, we remind you that the beach is accessible with four-legged friends until the start of the bathing season, i.e., when the bathing ordinance comes into force, which allows animals to access the beach only at certain times and in specific free beach areas. In summer, however, there are still accessible bathing areas.
The Levante Park
We then move south of Cesenatico, to the entrance of another large public park which can be accessed from Viale dei Mille.
The entrance on Via Magellano is adjacent to the dog exercise area, open all year round and also equipped with a fountain and benches for accompanying persons.
Levante Park is another green lung of the city, with an area of 40 hectares including meadows, a forest of domestic pines, poplars, alders, oaks, and tamarisks. Inside there are two small lakes, two play areas for children, picnic areas, and a summer bar. Here too, the entire park is marked by paths that can be used by bike or on foot with your dog on a leash.
Using one of the exits that lead to Viale dei Mille, continue in the direction of Viale Carducci to access the Levante / Valverde Beach. This long stretch of beach can also become an open-air playground, with holes to dig in the sand, birds to chase on the shore, and even a nice dip in the water, until, from May, the bathing season begins and the local bathing ordinance comes into force.
