Nativity Scene of the Seafaring Tradition, the only floating nativity scene in Italy
In Cesenatico there is a unique nativity scene in Italy! The floating Nativity Scene of the Seafaring Tradition, an unmissable destination for lovers of the magical Christmas atmosphere.
On the historic boats of the Maritime Museum, the nativity scene comes to life, representing a seaside village, where the protagonists are the 50 statues, true works of art, made with materials typical of fishermen's boats: wood, canvas, wax, and the colors used in dyeing sails to distinguish the families of sailors.
A now traditional event that has become an artistic and cultural heritage of extreme value for the entire city of Cesenatico and for the many visitors, who have always been fascinated by it.
The lighting ceremony for the 40th edition will be on Sunday, November 29, 2026, at 5 PM, when the nativity scene and the Christmas tree light up. The inauguration show features an aerial setting of great visual impact with music, lights, and video projections that will accompany the evolutions of dancers and acrobats suspended 20 meters high.
The event is organized by the entertainment agency Cardinali Group in collaboration with the Municipality of Cesenatico.
